Squigglefly Challenge #36, SFC3614 Stripes

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Hello everyone! Welcome to this week's Squigglefly Challenge. First let's announce last week's winner.  Last week, our challenge was to create a card using a Star.   The winner is Janet who created a beautiful witchy card using Framed Witch from artist Dawn Collins.

This week's winner can please contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com for your prize.

This week's challenge is SFC3614 Stripes

This week's challenge  is to add something with stripes to your card. That could be something in your image that is striped, striped paper on your card, a striped embellishment (like a flower or brad) or surprise us, as long as your card has some stripes.  We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.

Let's start with some great examples from the Holley Hobbyists:

Pat Martin added some great stripes to her card.  Both some vertically striped paper in the background as well as some staples to make small horizontal stripes.  Clever! This wonderful image is from artist James Horvath and is called Tongue Tied.  He's only $2 at the store.

Kecia Waters  created this adorable card using a new image from Squigglefly artist James Horvath.  She has incorporated her stripes into the image using paper piecing. This image is called  Chicken Newscaster.  It comes with three other hilarious sentiments!

Elizabeth Hart designed this gorgeous card using a brand new stamp from Squigglefly artist Cheryl Alger called Autumn Swing.  Don't you love the striped paper in her card's background?  Just lovely.  How about those tiny acorns?

Jen Leeflang created this adorable Christmas theme card with a lovely image from artist Tam Hess.  Isn't her coloring stunning?  This image is called Winter Fox.   That sentiment is too cute.

Darlene Pavlick created this gorgeous two tone card.  I just LOVE this color combination, did you notice both papers she chose have stripes on them?  She is using a brand new image from artist Fawn Palmer. This image is called Hurt Bunny.  This sweet image comes with the sentiment shown and one additional saying.

Tammy Hair created this get well card using a new stamp from artist Fawn Palmer. This lovely image is called Hurt Bunny.  Can you tell what the stripes are? Yep, it's done with gauze bandages.  How cool is that?

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog) used this adorable image from Squigglefly artist Sandra Caldwell.  This cutie is called Raggedy El and Ellie.  There's both stripes in my image, as well as on my card base.

I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card to play along this week.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use at least one stamp from Squigglefly!

We realize that many people don't have blogs, but instead participate in our challenges using on-line galleries. We love that you are helping us spread the word about Squigglefly! However, many of the galleries require passwords and not all of us at Squigglefly belong to every gallery or group. To help us make sure we don't miss your artwork, we are asking that if you do use an online gallery that you leave us a comment on the challenge post. That way we'll be sure to have a member of the Squigglefly team who is a member of that gallery (SCS, CDAC, PCP, etc) can validate your entry.

1.) If you up-load your creation to any on-line photo galleries, please use SFC3614 for your keywords when loading your creation photo there. 1b) please leave a comment on the challenge blog post so that someone from Squigglefly can validate your entry for the prize.

2) You don't *have* to include a Squigglefly image on your creation, but in order to qualify for the prize you will need to use one! You can also combine SF images with non-SF images to qualify! Don't have one? There are several FREEBIES you can grab from the Squigglefly store, hop on over there. Those images will qualify you for the prize.

3) You have one week to complete the challenge and it will close Sunday evening. The winner will be announced at the same time the new challenge post comes up...so be sure to check back EVERY Monday to see if you are a winner!

4) Please leave a direct link to your entry in the comments below. The linking tool works sporadically and we don't want to miss your project! (No back-linking please.)

  1. I am feeling lucky to have been chosen this week. I'm new to digi stamping but I'm seeing a whole new world open with products like those in your shop. Thanks much!
